Finding the RIH Holland/Amsterdam :
The RIH was being offered by a classic bicycle dealer. It was rather clear this RIH was original and authentic allthough no history was known. Fortunately little details prove that is was not a messed about bike. One thing that set this bike apart is the rather unusual paint colors and scheme incombination with the full reynolds 531 tubing this bike didn’t took long to find a new home.

The work:
Like the majority of the bikes that are being taken care of the RIH was no diffirent and got the standard treatment of being fully dismantled and the paint was given a special treatment to enhance the overall look and regain the shine like it left the factory. The new owner wanted to have the alloy a nice polish as the paintwork proved to be in really nice condition to create a good match between paint and parts.
Basicly it was a easy project as nearly all parts where in good condition and didn’t need to be replaced.

The finish:
Many people think (and the new owner was no exception) that for a old bike to regain a good look it needs a new paintjob. As the pix will show there is alot to regain with a fair amount of ‘ellbow grease’ and devotion. Overall a nice piece of dutch cycling history is being saved and and very pleased new owner that shows this masterpiece on dutch roads whenever the sun i shining.
